Andy Sinton has agreed terms with Tottenham Hotspur and has signed for
1.5 million. This represents a loss of 1.2 million for Wednesday.
Klas Ingesson, after making a few succesful apearances at centre half, has
been signed by Italian club Bari for 900,000 pounds. This represents
a small profit for the club.
Wednesday are awaiting work permits for their two new signings from
Red Star Belgrade, Darko Kovacevic and Dejan Stefanovic
Striker Kovacevic, a 6ft 3in 21-year-old, has scored 42 goals in 45 games
for Red Star. Stefanovic is a left sided defender. Both are Yugoslav
internationals.
Chris Woods has gone to Reading on a month's loan.
Dan Petrescu has moved on to Chelsea in a deal valued at 2.6 million.
There have been some hiccups with medical opinions, but it is hoped
the deal will soon go through.
The transfer tribunal has set a new record in deciding Nottingham Forest
must pay Wednesday 2.5 million pounds for midfielder Chris Bart-Williams.
Mark Pembridge has signed from Derby for 900,000. He is a midfield player.
Marc Degryse, the Belgian captain, has ageed terms with Wednesday and
is expected to sign next week. The former Anderlecht striker has a good
international goalscoring record. The fee will remain undisclosed but
is rumoured to be around 1.5 million pounds.
Roland Nilsson has declined an offer to return to Hillsborough.
Chris Bart-Williams has signed for Nottingham Forest. Wednesday want 4
million but Forest are offering 2 million and the fee will be decided by
a tribunal - expected to be around the 2 million mark.
David Pleat tried to persuade Bart-Williams to stay but wasn't able to.
