About Me
I’m a 40-something born and bred Lancastrian who lives and works in Stockholm, Sweden.
Before relocating to Sweden I spent over ten years in Nottingham, studying and working at the Univeristy of Nottingham’s Computer Science department. I grew up in Preston and went to school at Hutton Grammar School.
Stockholm is a stunning city, both in summer and winter (although winter does tend to be a little dark), and if you get the chance I highly recommend you visit.
By moving to Sweden I’ve missed watching the demise of Sheffield Wednesday first hand, but still follow them keenly, and it's been a rollercoaster ride the past ten years. With the debt gone hopefully things can only get better. We'll see ... My original Owls pages were some of the very first web pages, dating back to 1993 and I even had some match reports translated into Japanese!
In Nottingham I used to be fit and healthy. I turned out for the Internet Owls Football Club (IOFC), for a few years, and at the annual WorldNet tournaments from 97-01.
In recent years I've started hashing, a "Drinking Club with a Running problem"! Great exercise, a great way to really find out about where you live, and most importantly an exceptional crowd of fellow hashers. If you're in any way curious come along one Wednesday evening or every other Saturday if you're in the Stockholm area.
